Komodo National Park fees

Updated 11 October 2026

Each visitor pays park entry per person and per day: IDR 250,000 for international visitors, IDR 50,000 for Indonesians on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. It is not in any fare on Princess Lala, open trip or charter. The ranger, the drone permit and other levies are separate. Tickets are digital, in your name.

Who pays the park fee, and how?

You do. The park fee belongs to the national park, not to the boat and not to us, and it is charged to every visitor who enters, per person and per day. International visitors pay IDR 250,000. Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 on weekdays, and IDR 75,000 at weekends and on public holidays. The tariff comes from Government Regulation 36 of 2024 (PP 36/2024).

The ticket is digital and issued in your name, with your passport or ID number, through the park's online system, SiOra. There is no cash counter at the gate. Whoever collects the money for the ticket should give you the e-ticket or QR code in your name, and if they cannot, ask why before you pay.

Neither the open-trip fare nor the charter fare includes it. Ask us before you book how the ticket is arranged for your sailing. The table below shows the official rates.

Komodo National Park fees (paid separately)
International visitorsIDR 250,000 per person per day
Indonesian visitorsIDR 50,000 per person per day · IDR 75,000 weekends & holidays

Paid separately from your fare; the ranger and any harbour or regional fee come on top. Regulation: PP 36/2024 · Verified 10 October 2026.

How many days you pay for

The fee is per person per day, so the sum is guests multiplied by days. The calculator below does it for two, four and ten guests over one, two and three days, for international visitors and for Indonesian visitors on weekdays and at weekends.

Budget for the row that matches the number of days you sail.

Two other facts belong beside the sum. The park runs a daily visitor cap, shared by Padar, Rinca, Komodo and the nearby dive sites, in three time sessions, and that cap is why the open trip swaps Padar for Gili Lawa, or Komodo for Rinca, on a full day. And entering without a ticket can bring a fine of five times the tariff.

The higher rate for international visitors has been put under study, with no new amount or date announced. Check the figure again when you book.

The ranger and the other levies

The entry ticket covers trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling. Under the current tariff there is no separate park charge for snorkelling, which is the water activity on this boat.

A ranger is mandatory for walks on Komodo, Rinca and Padar. The fee is per group of up to five, not per person, and a bigger group needs a second ranger. The ranger fee is set separately, and our fares leave it out.

A small harbour or regional fee can also apply, and like the ranger it sits outside our fares. The table below gives the entry rates, the daily visitor quota and how tickets are bought. Diving, sport fishing and commercial filming carry charges of their own; none belongs to a standard trip on Princess Lala, which carries no tanks and no compressor.

Park entry, foreign visitorsIDR 250,000 per person per day, every day of the week
Park entry, Indonesian citizensIDR 50,000 on weekdays; IDR 75,000 at weekends and on public holidays; per person per day
Daily visitor quotaA daily visitor cap has applied since 1 April 2026 at Padar, Rinca and Komodo islands and nearby dive sites, in time sessions. The figure has been revised during the year; your boat company checks the current cap when it registers you.
How tickets are boughtOnline through SiOra (siora.id), the park's own system; no cash at the gate. Each visitor is registered by name and passport number, and your boat company normally does it for you.

What our fares leave out

The open-trip fare, from IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) apiece for three days, and the charter fare, from IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948) for the whole boat, both leave out the park entrance fee and the ranger. They also leave out flights, hotel nights, tips, insurance and personal expenses. These come on top.

A little arithmetic in words. Two international guests on a three-day sailing are six person-days of IDR 250,000. A family of four on two days is eight. The ranger is shared, since the fee is per group of up to five, so a family of four pays one ranger fee between them.

On a private charter there is one more thing to settle: the guide and the photo and video documentation are not in the fare either, and they are quoted separately on request. On the open trip they are in the fare, and the park fee is still not.

We would rather you saw these lines on this page than found them at the pier. If your budget has a hard ceiling, send us the number of guests and the dates and we reply with every line added up, fare and fees.

Your own drone

Flying a drone inside the park without a permit is illegal. The park charges a fee for each drone, for each day; confirm the amount on the park's ticketing site. You also need a special entry permit, applied for online through SiOra. Apply early.

Neither the permit nor the fee is part of any fare we sell, and both are yours to arrange and pay for. Without them the drone stays in its case.

On the open trip you can leave your drone at home. The photographer's work is part of the open-trip fare. On a private charter it is available on request and quoted separately.

The tariff lists no fee for ordinary personal photographs with a phone or camera. Commercial shoots, such as a paid film or an advertising shoot, need a permit and a fee of their own.

Where these figures come from

The entry rates and the drone fee come from the park authority's own briefings as reported by the national press. The tables carry the date on which they were checked.

Before you pay, confirm the current figures with the park's own ticketing site, and tell us if you find a difference. We correct this page when we learn of one.

FAQ

Who buys the park ticket, and in whose name?

Each visitor, and the ticket is issued in that visitor's name through the park's online system, SiOra, with a passport or ID number. There is no cash counter at the gate. International visitors pay IDR 250,000 per day. Whoever collects the money for the ticket should hand you the e-ticket or QR code.

Does the park fee differ between the open trip and a private charter?

No. The fee is the same per person per day, and it is left out of both fares. The open trip starts at IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) per person for three days and a charter at IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948) for the whole boat, and the entrance fee and the ranger come on top of each.

Is snorkelling charged separately inside the park?

Under the current tariff, no. Snorkelling is covered by the entry ticket, and the old separate snorkelling ticket was removed. Diving carries a surcharge of its own, which does not apply on Princess Lala, a snorkelling boat with a snorkel and a mask for every guest and no tanks.

Do Indonesian guests pay less than international guests?

Yes. Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 per person per day on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends and on public holidays, against IDR 250,000 for international visitors. Ask us if a student rate applies to you.

Why is the ranger fee charged per group and not per person?

Because a ranger walks with a group. A ranger is mandatory on Komodo, Rinca and Padar, and the fee quoted by operators is per group of up to five, with a second ranger for a bigger group. Our fares leave the fee out.

What happens if I enter the park without a ticket?

The fine can reach five times the fee, and there is no cash counter at the gate, so buy the e-ticket in advance. Under PP 36/2024 the entry fee is IDR 250,000 a day for an international visitor; a ranger is mandatory on top for the walks.
