Choosing your cabin for the Komodo open trip on Princess Lala

Updated 11 October 2026

Princess Lala has six cabins with air conditioning and sea-view windows. Open-trip fares, every Monday & Friday, run from IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) per person in Cabin 3, which shares a bathroom, to IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291) in Cabin 1, the master with a balcony. Cabins 1 to 5 have a single bed beside the double, and Cabin 6 has one double bed.

Ask about a cabin Or charter the boat

Which cabin for the three of you

Before the cabin numbers, tell us who is coming. A couple? Two parents and a child? Grandparents who would sooner not climb? The answer picks the cabin faster than a fare table does, because all six cabins on Princess Lala share what matters at night: each one is air-conditioned, with a sea-view window, power sockets, bed linen and a bath towel.

Cabins 1 to 5 each have a single bed beside the double for a third guest; Cabin 6 has one double and is sold for two on open trips. Two adults and a nine-year-old fit in Cabin 4. So do three friends who have shared a room before.

  • Cabin 1, Master, upper deck. Windows on three sides, a private balcony with a bean bag, its own bathroom, a double and a single.
  • Cabin 2, Private, upper deck. A double and a single, and its own bathroom.
  • Cabin 3, Private, upper deck. A double and a single, and a shared bathroom outside the cabin. That is the whole reason it has the lowest fare on board.
  • Cabins 4 and 5, Private, main deck. A double and a single, each with its own bathroom, and no climb to the upper deck at bedtime.
  • Cabin 6, Master, main deck. Rebuilt in 2026, with one double bed, its own bathroom and a private balcony with a bench. It is sold for two on open trips; on a private charter a single berth is added.

The cards below carry the photographs of each one, and a button that asks us about that cabin by name.

The three-day fares, cabin by cabin

The table shows the fares for sailings from 1 January 2027. The three-day sailing means two nights on board, lunch and dinner on the first day, breakfast, lunch and dinner on the second, breakfast on the third, and back in Labuan Bajo between 10:00 and 11:00 on day three. The two-day fare comes in the next section. Every fare is per person. Children under 3 travel free with a parent, and from that age the full fare applies.

Read the three-day column from the top. Cabin 1 is IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291) per person and Cabin 6 is IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285); those are the two masters with a balcony. Cabins 2, 4 and 5 are IDR 3,800,000 (≈ USD 233) each. Cabin 3 is IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199), the lowest fare on board, and what you give up for it is a bathroom of your own.

The last column is the extra bed on the three-day sailing. In Cabins 1 to 5 a third guest sleeps on the single bed and pays the extra-bed fare in the table, which is lower than the fare of the first two. Cabin 6 shows a dash there, because on open trips it sleeps two.

These fares apply to sailings from 1 January to 31 July 2027, and they include VAT at 11 percent. For sailings after 31 July 2027, ask us for the price.

The two-day fare on the same sailing, and the lower 2026 fare

Not everyone has three days. On the same Monday or Friday sailing you can book the two-day fare: you board with everyone else, eat at the same table, walk the same ridge and swim off the same beaches on days one and two, and then go ashore in Labuan Bajo between 19:00 and 20:30 on the second evening, while the three-day guests stay for one more breakfast and Kanawa.

Those fares sit in the second fare column of the table above. Cabin 1 is IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273) per person, Cabin 6 is IDR 4,250,000 (≈ USD 261), Cabins 2, 4 and 5 are IDR 3,400,000 (≈ USD 209), and Cabin 3 is IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169). The table below gives the extra-bed fares for a third guest on the two-day trip.

The last row is the one to read if you are sailing soon. Open trips that start on or before 31 December 2026 cost IDR 100,000 (≈ USD 6) less per person, in every cabin, than the fares on this page.

The two-day fare lands between 19:00 and 20:30 on day two, so do not book a flight for that evening; book a hotel in Labuan Bajo for that night and fly the next day.

What your fare covers, starting with the food

Start with the table, since that is where most of a day on board is spent. Every meal is included, cooked by the chef and served at the long table or at the stern: lunch and dinner on the first day, breakfast, lunch and dinner on the second, and breakfast on the third. Drinking water, tea and coffee are there all day, and on the open trip so are snacks and soft drinks.

Then the people. A local guide sails with every open trip, and so does photo and video documentation by GoPro, mirrorless camera and drone. The fare also covers the transfer from your hotel or the airport and back again, your cabin with its bed linen and bath towel, a mask and a snorkel, and a basic first-aid kit. Fins are not supplied.

What the fare leaves out is a short list, and worth reading twice. Komodo National Park fees and the ranger fee are paid separately: IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day, and IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends for Indonesian visitors, with the ranger and other levies on top. Flights, hotel nights in Labuan Bajo, tips for the guide and crew, travel insurance and personal spending are yours as well. Bring cash for the park fees and the tips. The two lists below set it all out.

The Mondays and Fridays you can book

The calendar below shows every sailing we can offer, month by month, for the rest of 2026 and for 2027 to the end of July. Each date in it is a Monday or a Friday. Choose one and tell us how many you are and which cabin you would like.

A deposit of 50 percent holds the cabin, and the balance is due 30 days before departure. If you book inside those 30 days, the fare is paid in full when you book.

Cabins go one by one, and on some dates the only one left is Cabin 3. If a bathroom of your own is the thing you will not give up, say so, and we offer you the next date with a private-bathroom cabin free instead of booking Cabin 3.

So send the date, the number of people and the ages of any children. We answer with the cabins that are free and the fare for each.

FAQ

What happens to my cabin if Princess Lala cannot sail on my date?

You are not left on the jetty. If Princess Lala cannot sail on your date, you get a phinisi of equal or higher class on the same dates at no extra cost; if the harbour master closes the port, or you would rather not take the other boat, the trip is refunded in full within 14 days.

Where is the bathroom for Cabin 3?

Outside the cabin. Cabin 3 is the only one of the six cabins without a bathroom of its own; it uses a shared bathroom, and that is why its fare is the lowest on board, IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) per person on the three-day sailing. The room itself has the same double and single bed, air conditioning and sea-view window as the other private cabins.

Can three adults share one cabin on the open trip?

Yes, in Cabins 1 to 5. Each has a double bed and a single bed, and the third guest pays the extra-bed fare shown in the table. Space is tight with three adults, since there is little floor beyond the beds, so pack soft bags. Cabin 6 has one double bed and is sold for two guests on open trips.

Which cabins are on which deck, and which need stairs?

Cabins 1, 2 and 3 are on the upper deck and Cabins 4, 5 and 6 are on the main deck; none is below deck. The main-deck cabins need no climb at bedtime, which suits grandparents and small children. The upper-deck cabins are up one flight of stairs, and there is no lift.

Do two-day and three-day guests sail on the same boat?

They do. Both fares board the same Monday or Friday sailing and make the same stops on days one and two, at the same tables with the same crew. Two-day guests go ashore on the evening of day two, between 19:00 and 20:30, and dinner that night is for the three-day guests. Three-day guests keep their cabin for a second night and return between 10:00 and 11:00 on day three, after breakfast and Kanawa.

Is the third bed a proper bed?

It is a single bed that stands beside the double in Cabins 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, made up with its own linen and towel. Whoever sleeps in it pays the extra-bed fare in the table and eats with everyone else. A child under 3 goes free with a parent.

Can I book a Komodo trip for 2027 already?

Yes. The Monday and Friday sailings from January to July 2027 are on the calendar, and a private charter can be reserved for any date in 2027. The fares on this site are the published fares for sailings from 1 January to 31 July 2027. For sailings after 31 July 2027, ask us for the price. If a fare changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge.
