Princess Lala Phinisi
A budget Komodo liveaboard trip, priced cabin by cabin
Updated 11 October 2026
The lowest fare on Princess Lala is Cabin 3, whose bathroom is shared and outside the cabin: IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) each for three days or IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) for two, every Monday & Friday. Transfers, meals, guide and photographer are in; park fees are not.
What Cabin 3 costs and what you give up
It is the same long table, the same plates from the galley and the same sunset off Kalong. What separates Cabin 3 from the next fare up is a bathroom.
Cabin 3 is on the upper deck, with a double bed and a single beside it, air conditioning, power sockets and a sea-view window, like every cabin on Princess Lala. Its bathroom is outside the cabin and shared. Five cabins have their own. Cabin 3 carries the lowest fare for exactly that reason, and we say so before we say anything else about it.
The sums are short. For three days and two nights Cabin 3 is IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) per person. For two days and one night it is IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) per person. Both apply to a Monday or Friday departure between 1 January and 31 July 2027, per person, two to a cabin.
For sailings after 31 July 2027, write to us for the figure.
Every cabin, one beside another
The table lists the 2027 fares. Seeing the whole list is the quickest way to judge whether Cabin 3 is worth its bathroom. The step from Cabin 3 to a cabin with its own bathroom, which means Cabin 2, 4 or 5, is the gap between IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) and IDR 3,800,000 (≈ USD 233), per person, on the three-day trip. Cabins 4 and 5 are on the main deck, with no stairs; Cabin 2 is up the staircase on the upper deck, like Cabin 3.
The two masters, Cabin 6 at IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285) and Cabin 1 at IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291), add a private balcony.
If the shared bathroom is the only thing in doubt, tell us your date and we say which of those three are free.
The table below prints the three-day and the two-day fare for every cabin, and the extra-bed fare for a third guest on the three-day sailing.

Two days against three
The two fares are for the same sailing. Both start on the Monday or Friday and call at the same stops on day one and day two, so a guest on the two-day fare walks Padar, meets the dragons with a ranger, swims at Pink Beach and drifts over Manta Point beside the guests who stay on. Then the two-day boat lands in Labuan Bajo between 19:00 and 20:30, and the three-day guests stay for dinner, another night, one more breakfast and a morning at Kanawa.
In Cabin 3 the two-day trip is IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) and the three-day trip IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199). In a cabin with its own bathroom it is IDR 3,400,000 (≈ USD 209) against IDR 3,800,000 (≈ USD 233). Take the shorter fare if the money matters more than the last morning, but remember that you land in the evening and need a hotel for that night, which is its own cost.
The table above prints both fares for every cabin; the two-day extra-bed fares are below.
| 2D1N open trip · extra bed in Cabin 1 | IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) third guest |
| 2D1N open trip · extra bed in Cabin 2, 4 or 5 | IDR 2,250,000 (≈ USD 138) third guest |
| 2D1N open trip · extra bed in Cabin 3 | IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123) third guest |
| Open trips that start on or before 31 December 2026 | IDR 100,000 (≈ USD 6) less per person, in every cabin, than the fares on this page |
A third guest in the cabin
The third guest sleeps on the single berth next to the double and pays the extra-bed fare, which is below the cabin fare for that cabin. That is how three friends bring the average down.
On the two-day trip, three in Cabin 3 come to two fares of IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) plus one extra-bed fare of IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123). Three in Cabin 2, 4 or 5 come to two fares of IDR 3,400,000 (≈ USD 209) plus IDR 2,250,000 (≈ USD 138). The three-day extra-bed fares are in the last column of the table above.
A child under 3 travelling with a parent or guardian pays nothing, so a small child on the single berth adds nothing. From that age the berth has a fare. Cabin 6 has no extra bed on the open trip.
A whole boat of eighteen friends is another way to divide the cost. At that headcount a charter comes to IDR 2,560,000 (≈ USD 157) a head for two days and IDR 3,310,000 (≈ USD 203) for three, without the guide and photographer that the open trip includes. We give the arithmetic and leave the choice to you.
What the fare already pays for, and what it does not
Inside the open-trip fare: the hotel or airport pickup and the transfer back, every meal on board, water, tea and coffee all day, snacks and soft drinks, a mask and snorkel, bed linen and a towel, a local guide, and the open-trip photographer. The photographs are part of the sum.
Outside it, and paid by you:
- Park fees: IDR 250,000 a day for an international visitor, plus the ranger and other levies. Bring cash.
- Tips for the crew and guide.
- Flights to and from Labuan Bajo, and a hotel night there. After the two-day trip you land between 19:00 and 20:30, so that night is yours to book.
- Fins, which the boat does not supply. Bring a pair or rent a pair in Labuan Bajo.
- Travel insurance and personal spending.
Prices include 11 percent VAT. The deposit is 50 percent.
When the lowest fare is the wrong one
If a private bathroom matters more to you than the sum, then Cabin 2, 4 or 5 is the better choice. If you want the whole boat to yourselves at the price of one cabin, no fare on this page does that.
Princess Lala is a six-cabin timber phinisi, and the open-trip fare pays for a chef, a guide, a photographer and a drone as well as the cabin.
The way to judge it is to put the same four lines next to any other offer: what the fare includes, which meals, whether the bathroom is yours, and what the park will charge you on the day. Then write to us with the date. We reply with what is free and the figure for your sailing.
FAQ
What is the catch with Cabin 3?
The bathroom. Cabin 3 has a shared bathroom outside the cabin, where the other five cabins have their own. The cabin itself matches Cabin 2: upper deck, a double bed with a single beside it, air conditioning and a sea-view window. The fare is IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199) for three days and IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) for two.
How much less is the two-day fare in Cabin 3?
The two-day fare is IDR 2,750,000 (≈ USD 169) per person and the three-day fare IDR 3,250,000 (≈ USD 199). The shorter trip drops dinner on day two, the second night, the last breakfast and the morning at Kanawa. It also ends in Labuan Bajo between 19:00 and 20:30, which means a hotel night you pay for yourself.
Do sailings this year cost less than next year's list?
Yes. A sailing that starts in 2026 is IDR 100,000 (≈ USD 6) cheaper per head, in any cabin, than the 2027 list shows. For sailings after 31 July 2027, write to us for the figure.
What do I pay in cash on the day?
International visitors pay IDR 250,000 a day for the park; Indonesian visitors pay IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 on a weekend day. The ranger and other levies come on top. Tips for the crew and guide are also yours. Bring cash for both.
Can three of us share Cabin 3 to split the cost?
Yes. Cabin 3 has a double bed and a single beside it. The third guest pays the extra-bed fare, which is IDR 2,000,000 (≈ USD 123) on the two-day trip and appears in the last column of the table for three days. The bathroom is still shared and outside the cabin.
Is the hotel night after the two-day trip extra?
Yes. The two-day trip lands between 19:00 and 20:30, so you spend that night in Labuan Bajo and fly the next day. Hotel nights are not in the fare. On the three-day trip you are back between 10:00 and 11:00 and can book a flight after 13:00.
