Photographs of Princess Lala, from the long table to the bow sundeck

Updated 11 October 2026

These are the photographs of Princess Lala as she is today: the indoor long table and the open-air stern table, plates from the galley, cabins with their sea-view windows, and the bow sundeck. The cabins appear as they are in 2026. The plates are examples, not a fixed list of dishes.

What the photographs show

The pictures start from the water, with the boat under both blue sails, and then take you on board the way you will walk it. First the long table in the indoor dining room, then the stern table under its timber roof, then the plates, then the cabins, then the bow.

We chose them to answer the questions guests ask us most. Where do we eat? What does a cabin look like? Is there somewhere to lie down? Where does the tender sit? You will find the tender in the shot of the sundeck taken from directly above, and you will find the answers to the rest further down the page.

Every picture is of Princess Lala herself or of a place she goes: at anchor beside a rocky islet, in a wide bay with a white-sand beach behind her, in profile off Labuan Bajo. We do not use stock images of other boats. If a picture matters to your decision, ask us about it in your message.

The two tables and the galley

Most of the photographs are of food, because that is what guests remember and ask about. You will see lunch on the long table in the indoor dining room, sea-view windows beside it, and tea and coffee set out at the far end. You will see the open-air table at the stern, set for a meal with a green bay behind it and the water close.

And you will see the food: a platter of calamari, prawns and corn; a whole grilled fish at the long table; fresh sambal in a stone mortar; fried banana with cheese beside a glass of dragon-fruit juice.

Read them as examples. They show what our cook has put out, and they are not a promise of one dish on one day. The chef decides what goes on the table, and we do not publish a set list of dishes. If someone in your group needs something particular, ask us before you book.

The cabins as they are in 2026

The cabin photographs show the rooms as they are in 2026, including Cabin 6. Cabin 1 appears with its windows on three sides and the bean bag on its private balcony. Cabin 6 appears with its double bed and its private balcony photographed at sunset. Cabin 5, a private cabin on the main deck, appears too.

Look at how little floor there is beyond the beds. A cabin on Princess Lala is a double bed and a single beside it, an air conditioner, a sea-view window, sockets for your phone and a bathroom, and it is meant for sleeping, not for spreading out. Every window looks at water.

A photograph cannot tell you everything, so we will. Cabin 3's bathroom is outside the cabin and shared. Every cabin sleeps two in a double; Cabins 1 to 5 have a single berth alongside, and on a charter Cabin 6 gains its single. To see more of a particular cabin, ask for it by number.

The bow sundeck and the side deck

The front of the boat is laid with green artificial turf and scattered with bean bags. There is a sofa under an awning for the hours when the sun is too hard, and you will see the deck at sunset and again in daylight. It is the open-air place to lie down after a swim.

On the shaded side deck stand two canvas deck chairs, for whoever wants a seat out of the sun.

The bow has no roof beyond the awning, so a hat helps, and a light layer is worth carrying up for the evening, when you are off Kalong and the bats take to the air.

What a photograph will not tell you

Photographs do not show a Wi-Fi signal, and the Wi-Fi on Princess Lala is the crew's hotspot, which works where a phone works and drops between islands. They do not show what is not fitted either: fins are not supplied, and there are no scuba tanks and no compressor. Say that early. A snorkelling boat looks the same in a photograph as any other.

They also do not show the people. A chef, a captain, a cruise director and two deck crew are on board, and on the open trip a local guide and a photographer come too. That is the team who take the pictures you will keep, and the open-trip fare includes their work.

If you want more than the gallery gives you, tell us what you are trying to decide, such as a cabin, a table, a deck or a view, and we reply in writing with what we know. We prefer a question to a guess.

FAQ

Are the cabin photographs of the boat as she is now?

Yes. They show the cabins as they are in 2026, Cabin 6 included. Cabin 3's bathroom is outside the cabin and shared, which no picture of the room will tell you.

Will the plates in the photographs be the ones I am served?

They are ordinary meals from the boat's own galley: grilled whole fish, crumbed prawns and fried banana with cheese among them. They are examples, not a set list of dishes. The chef decides what goes on the table.

What is there to lie on at the bow?

The bow sundeck is laid with green artificial turf and bean bags, and it has a sofa under an awning. The shaded side deck has two canvas deck chairs. These are the open-air places to rest after a swim. For a nap in the cool, every cabin is air-conditioned, so a child can sleep through the afternoon heat.

Does the open-trip fare include photographs of us?

Yes. On the open trip the guide and the photographer are part of the fare, so photo and video documentation of your days is included. On a private charter both are quoted separately if you want them. Our own pictures on this page are of the boat, not of guests.

How do I see more photographs of one cabin?

Tell us the cabin number in your message. Every cabin card on the cabins page carries its own photographs. We send what we have for the cabin you are weighing.
